A/C Replacement

Hillsboro Beach, FL

AM Florida Builders was contracted to replace several air conditioning units in a historic cottage. This project was located in Hillsboro Beach, FL. Our scope of work included the installation of two new outdoor condensing units. Additionally, we installed five new indoor mini-split units across three bedrooms, the kitchen, and the living room.

To begin the project, our experienced team disconnected the power to all existing A/C units. We ensured safety by locking and tagging out the electrical breaker. Next, we proceeded to remove the old A/C condenser units from the exterior. We also removed the five previously installed mini-split units. Our team carefully cleared out the old condensate lines, refrigerant lines, and insulation pads. Furthermore, we removed the old piping, covers, and the exterior disconnect box.

Once the old components were gone, we started installing the new equipment. First, we attached new aluminum stands to the existing concrete pads. We then placed new rubber isolation pads under the outdoor units. Consequently, the team was able to install new refrigeration lines, piping, and condensation lines efficiently. Next, we installed new electrical disconnect boxes and PVC drain piping covers. Afterward, our team sealed all wall penetrations with foam insulation. We then reconnected all electrical wiring and piping to the new units. Finally, we pressure-tested each circuit with nitrogen to confirm there were no refrigerant leaks.

When the testing was successful, AM Florida Builders focused on the finishing touches. We repaired the sheetrock, plaster, paint, and trim affected by the work. As a result, the area looked even better than its original condition. To finish, we restored power and ran a final diagnostic test. Our team is proud to report the new A/C units are working smoothly. They are now running efficiently and remain completely leak-free.

It is not the beauty of a building you should look at, its the construction of the foundation that will stand the test of time.
